Hey everybody! @Yalor sent me over here to introduce myself. Wassup?
Iām Adam, but Iām thekerp pretty much everywhere on the webz. But if you want to start at the closest to a central hub for my digital presence/portfolio thatād be https://thekerp.com. Maybe some of you have caught me on Meta Media.
I was drawn to MetaCartel through LexDAO and then Raid Guild, which lead to MetaMedia, DAO Rush Week, and DAOHaus. Itās become clear that MC is the nexus of teams and projects that are fun to work on, good for the world, while not afraid to get a little spicy. Community driven development FTW.
Me: Iām a lifetime generalist and storyteller. I grew up playing DnD, building computers, disassembling cameras, and finding ways to monetize that shit so I didnāt have to get a āreal job.ā (I also spent that time training for the Olympics in swimming. Swam at 2004 US Olympic Trials. Didnāt make the team. So, that was a whole thing, but doesnāt really have anything to do with why Iām here. Inquire if you want to hear all manner of stupid tales.)
I started a video production and software development company with some friends right out of college and basically ran some version of that for 10 years by staying at the edge of digital tech. It was always a small team, so we all had to learn all the things. After that I took a break to go to law school full time, while working as a digital marketing strategist. I didnāt plan to practice as a lawyer, but school was an excuse to just do academic stuff. I spent a lot of that time researching government and decentralization, and writing papers like āversion control and the law.ā All the while I was watching Bitcoin and then Ethereum do their thing, buying and selling. After school I wrote a white paper about smart contract dispute resolution, and launched a project called Juris to work on future of the legal system kinda stuff. We raised a bit of capital, frens and fam, not through an ICO, and have been working on that since. Through that project, I was pulled into LexDAO by @Ross ā¦ Raid Guildā¦ so onā¦and here I am. Stoked to be here!
For what itās worth, I donāt really care about DeFi and chasing gains, although I love the theoretical implications, and throw what I can at the projects I find compelling. These mechanics are the obvious future of everythingāwith an uncertain timescale. DeFi will solve for a bunch of really cool monetary incentives, and Iāll get enough of that to survive.
Iām here because I believe that open source software, community driven development, and community ownership through DAOS is the futureā¦ and the only thing that can solve for a whole host of society level problemsā¦ like lack of access to judicial systems. Also, none of this means all this shit shouldnāt be fun.
When Iām not at a screen Iām usually on a trail, a bike, or building something out of wood.
