Grant Proposal: Support Regens Unite at BBW 2023

gm MetaCartel fam :sparkles:

Excited to share a grant proposal on behalf of Regens Unite, a collective deeply aligned with the ethos of community and regeneration. Our upcoming event in Berlin aims to bridge the gap between the digital and natural worlds, fostering a space where tech meets sustainability.

We’ve crafted a proposal that we believe resonates with the MetaCartel spirit, and we’d be honored to have your insights, feedback, and hopefully, your support

A little note: Our event is just 8 days away, so we’d truly appreciate a swift response. Your timely feedback will help us make this collaboration as impactful as possible!

Support Regens Unite during Berlin Blockchain Week 2023

TLDR:

Regens Unite is a community-building initiative and grassroots organization dedicated to nurturing a regenerative future on individual, societal, and environmental fronts.

Through our unique blend of curated in-person gatherings, facilitation, and educational media, we are building bridges to cross-pollinate knowledge and establish a holistic global network.

Our upcoming Berlin event on Sept 15-16th 2023 (Berlin Blockchain Week, Climate & Transport Week, Art Week) is poised to be a landmark in regenerative community bridging.

We are reaching out to request sponsorship for our Plant Tier (5k), a mid-level tier that offers a comprehensive package for Metacartel to engage and benefit from.

What is REGENS UNITE?

Regens Unite stands as a beacon for those passionate about regeneration. We are a collective that champions the growth of a “glocal” permaculture community, offering platforms for knowledge exchange, connection, and unity across diverse sectors.

What we do:

  • Intimate & Intentional Event Curation - With a team of experienced facilitators, we organise inclusive, participatory events.
  • Facilitation & Programming Services - We support other events through programming partnerships, facilitation training or consulting, and marketing.
  • Educational content - We produce digital media such as after-movies, session recordings, a newsletter, & a handbook to share learnings and support a growing regen network.

Why did we decide to build it?

The planet’s challenges have passed the point where sustainable goals will suffice. They need to be met with regenerative solutions.

Regens Unite was conceived to address this shift, providing a space for diverse sectors to collaborate, ask new questions, and develop holistic, regenerative solutions.

Customized Plant Tier Sponsorship Request:

We are seeking a customized sponsorship tailored to Metacartel’s unique ethos, amounting to €5,000 (3.3 ETH). This tier offers:

  • Comprehensive logo placement across media channels - list of media partners below
    • Event promotions on Twitter, LinkedIn, & Instagram
    • Event summary threads
    • After-movie on Youtube
    • Regens Unite homepage as well as Berlin events page
  • Feature in our event after-movie
  • “Tacos from MetaCartel” - Sponsor our saturday lunch meal during the event, with branding and shoutouts.
  • Sticker Bombing - Thematic Metacartel stickers will be designed, produced, and prominently displayed throughout the event venue.
  • 5 tickets + 3 discount codes
  • An invitation to our exclusive Sponsors/Speakers dinner on Sept 14th.

Why fund this?

  1. Impactful Mission: Regens Unite is not just another event; it’s a movement towards a regenerative future, bridging gaps between sectors and fostering collaboration.
  2. Diverse Audience: Our target audience spans from climate activists to impact investors, ensuring a rich mix of perspectives and solutions.
  3. Proven Track Record: Our previous events and partnerships, including with media partners like Bankless DAO and Schelling Point, demonstrate our ability to create impactful gatherings.
  4. Unique Offering: Unlike standard top-down conference formats, our events prioritize participatory activities, professional facilitation, and holistic experiences.

We are evolving the web3 space by:

  • Bringing in expertise from sectors outside of web3
  • Providing an avenue for innovative web3 projects to conduct research and receive rapid feedback outside of their bubble
  • Designing events with safe spaces for experimentation to co-create new projects
  • Driving inclusivity and diversity in web3 through curated attendance, using application processes & scholarships
  • Creating toolkits and media to elevate project stories, educate on the regenerative movement, and inspire new groups to get involved

What makes a good sponsor?

A good sponsor aligns with our mission of regeneration, understands the value of community-driven initiatives, and is keen to engage in meaningful collaborations. They should be proactive, open to co-creation, and see the potential in cross-sectoral partnerships.

Currently confirmed sponsors and partners include:

  • Celo
  • Refi DAO
  • Schelling Point
  • GreenPill Network
  • Ethic Hub
  • Open Collective

Previous Outcomes:

Our event in Brussels, May 2022, set the stage, highlighting the demand for such regenerative spaces. This success catalyzed the “GLOCAL” movement, connecting global regens through localized events and stories.

Since then we have initiated 13 events in different locations, grown a Telegram group of 600+ regens, and formed a small, distributed team passionate about advancing a regenerative future.

We have a growing pipeline of requests from event organizers across the world to work with our brand and grow the movement, and we are continuing to build a support structure around this.

Team Description:

Our team is a mosaic of dedicated individuals:

  • Guil Maueler: Creative director, generalist, pragmatist. Design geek for social impact + thriving communities
  • Corinna Schlicht: Partnerships & Growth Strategist, Master Weaver, Comms Nerd, a driving force of nature.
  • Shauna Butterly: Operational mastermind.
  • Leen Schelfhout: Deep Democracy Facilitator, rebel, firestarter, chameleon, mom, usually full of energy, love for life.
  • Xavier Damman: A web3 and startup guru. Entrepreneur, Dad, Citizen.
  • Jeremy Akers: Facilitator enabling curiosity, care and courage with Liberating Structures.

Together, we are steering Regens Unite towards a brighter, regenerative future.

We invite you to be a part of our journey by sponsoring the Plant Tier. Your support will not only elevate our event but also amplify our shared mission of regeneration. Thank you for considering our proposal.

+1 vouch from me on this, met some of the Regens Unite peeps at MetaFest, IMO they’re doing a really good job of connecting Regen people cross disciplinarily into DAOs / web3, and the events are high impact towards figuring out how to apply decentralized tech towards solving the meta crisis

Hey all, dropping in here to share a little update on how it all went down!

:trophy: What went well

I think it’s safe to say that the event was a big success, with around 200 participants and 50+ sessions hosted! You can check this recap video teaser (with some spicy chilis included :hot_pepper:):

twitter-recap-thread

The vibes were on-point, we got a great mix of communities merging together on both 2 days!

We were also able to collect a LOT of great content from interviews and talks during the event (around 30+ hours of footage), that we’d like to process and publish across our networks. We’re on a mission to spread the regenerative mindset far and wide and set an example for bridging cross-sector knowledge and expertise.

We’re super happy MetaCartel was able to jump onboard as a sponsor for this event (even if at a smaller capacity) and hope we can establish a long lasting partnership going forward <3

:poop: What didn’t go so well

In spite of the incredible community support we’ve received, we’re still facing difficulties closing the last gap of €3k on expenses for this event. This year has been quite challenging for us to secure sufficient funding.

We would love to know if there are ways in which we can support MetaCartel’s goals within our future events (online or in-person), and across our media network leveraging the content we’ve created. We’d be happy to co-create terms for an additional sponsorship package.

:rocket: What’s next for us
